JUDY HOPEN Judy has been with Labyrinth Enterprises, LLC, for more than 10 years, now serving as vice president, studio manager and production supervisor. She is in charge of our 8,000 square foot studio (see studio) as well as seeing that all portable labyrinth orders are correctly filled. Since we still make labyrinths the old-fashioned way, drawn and painted completely by hand, every order is a custom order, which entails constant vigilance to make sure we are drawing the right pattern at the right size, painting it the right color, and sending it to the right person. Adept at drawing with both pencils and diamond-bladed saws, Judy sometimes serves as crew chief for on-site installations, directing our proprietary polymer concrete method. She also draws and paints labyrinths on floors, decks, and concrete pads. She does a marvelous job at keeping our tools and trailer organized. We have many pictures of Judy, as she is the most photogenic person at Labyrinth Enterprises, LLC (having been a model and performance artist). Judy is a popular figure at annual and regional labyrinth gatherings. She participates as a presenter in our labyrinth making master classes, held in our studio (see schedule). Judy holds high standards for her work, which is evident at a glance. She has personally drawn and painted more labyrinths than anyone in the world (including me), perhaps in all of history (more than 750). She's so good that it is almost scary to watch her. Thanks, Judy, for your hard work and dedication.
