CONSTRUCTING CLASSICAL LABYRINTHS

by Robert Ferré

Cover of the book, "Constructing Classical Labyrinths."The instructions in this manual take you step-by-step not only through the construction of labyrinths, but also to understanding their geometry and seed patterns so that you can make variations and adjustments when necessary.

The title no longer includes "7-circuit" because the manual includes instructions for 11- and 15-circuit labyrinths. It describes many variations, making them with diamonds rather than crosses, with enlarged centers, symmetrical, circular, and in special shapes.

New to this manual is the systematic description of how to make not the lines of the labyrinth, but the path. Once you can directly walk the path pattern, with no markers to guide you, then you can easily make the labyrinth in snow, leaves, or sand. Indeed, when you have mastered this manual, you will be fully qualified to make any number of labyrinths, including portable rope labyrinths.

Most people know about the seed pattern for the classical labyrinth, comprising a cross and brackets and dots. However, the seed pattern is not always the most efficient way to make a classical labyrinth. We show a method called "the five-stake method" which will allow you to make a complete labyrinth in less than an hour. We are very pleased with this book and think you will be too.
